CROSS COUNTRY

Cross Country picked up where they left off last year in the win column, as they started section play 2-0 on the 23-24 campaign. The top 4 runners @ Brush Creek were all EC runners - Steffler, Custer, Wise, and Crizer respectively. Big note on the day - 15 - the lowest score you can receive at a cross country meet. More importantly, EC defeated the Lions 15-49 while beating Neshannock 15-45.

GOLF

Golf had a busy week, and it showed. It’s tough to do two events in one week, but four straight day events is a lot. Monday EC defeated Riverside by 24 shots. Tuesday EC placed 6th out of 24 teams at the MAC Championships at Fox Run. Wednesday EC lost a tough one against the Wildcats by 7 strokes. Finally, EC lost to the Lancers by 13 strokes on Thursday, which will officially eliminate the Wolverines from team playoffs. Up next is section qualifiers at Delmar, which will be a big advantage for the Wolverines.

SOCCER

Soccer capped off two more section games during the week, starting the week against one of the big soccer teams in the WPIAL in Avonworth. The Antelopes defeated the Wolverines 12-0. EC then played host to RivEll Cup rival Riverside on Thursday, losing 6-0 at Helling Stadium.

GIRLS TENNIS

Girls Tennis defeated RivEll Cup rivals Riverside 3-2 on Monday to pick up their first section victory of the season to improve to 2-4 (1-4) on the season. Kailyn Hamilton and Tess Folino represented EC well at Section Singles on Wednesday, but both losing in the first round of play. The Wolverines will lean on both in their next matchup against Lawrence county foe Neshannock.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Volleyball brought on the most excitement during the week as they faced another 5 set match that was live streamed by ECS, with the Lady Wolverines coming out on top 3-2. EC bounced back with the victory after losing to Neshannock on Tuesday 3-1. Saturday had the Lady Wolverines finish 2nd to the Lancers as well in the Small MAC Team Tournament.

Middle School Football

Middle School Football offensive struggles continue as they hosted Shenango on Wednesday. Both teams started slow, but the Wildcats leaned on the run game to prevail 16-0 in the end. Meanwhile, EC was led by Hayden McCandless who finished the game with 11 tackles. The Wolverines fall to 0-2 on the season and will look to bounce back against the New Brighton Lions on Wednesday from Helling Stadium this week.
