M.S. Football finishes year 3-3-1

The Middle School Wolverines football team capped off their season on Wednesday with a “Riv-Ell” Cup matchup against favorited Riverside Panthers. Riverside jumped out to an early 8-0 lead in the first quarter and did not look back, as they defeated the Wolverines on the night 38-0.

With the victory, the Middle School Championship game is set as it will be the Laurel Spartans taking on the Riverside Panthers sometime this coming Wednesday night, as it will be a battle of teams both in green and white.

Ellwood City was able to defeat Union, New Brighton, and Neshannock on the year while having a wacky week 2 tie with the Shenango Wildcats at 0-0. The Wolverines losses came by the hands of Laurel, Mohawk, and Riverside. Consequently, the two games where the Wolverines loss and were shutout will be the two teams that will represent the championship game - Laurel and Riverside.
