GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Volleyball was able to cruise by the Pigtail Round for the WPIAL Playoffs as they received the 12th seed in the bracket. Although it was not the seed they wanted or deserved, the Wolverines knew all they had to do was win and move on to the next round. Coverage by ECS on Monday night saw EC come out early and win in the most basic way that you can - in straight sets - against the Warriors. EC then turned around just two days later to travel an hour and a half away to Southmoreland to take on a familiar foe in the #5 Avonworth Antelopes. Avonworth was the seen as the favorite, and even for the region as the first-time host #4 Southmoreland had a magical run, but was new to the experience. The Wolverines had a lead of at least 2 points in ALL four sets they played, but lost 3-1 on the night. Coverage was by ECS on the night, but a special thanks goes out to the EC community for donating the total of $400 to live stream the event. The Wolverines finish the season 13-7 (9-5) while riding on the shoulders of 5 great Seniors during the year.

Sidenote - #5 Avonworth Antelopes defeated #4 Southmoreland to reach the final four of 2A while also clinching a game at the PIAA Playoffs level as well.
