ECXC caps off successful season at Hershey

 
 

ECXC finished yet another great season of running - once again - from Parkview XC Course in Hershey, PA as they competed in the 53rd PIAA State Championships.

A great showing was on hand, and the Wolverines did not disappoint. EC’s JR Bradley Custer led the charge for the Wolverines, taking home 23rd overall with a time of 17:45. Just 11 seconds later, JR Drew Steffler came in taking 26th.

SR’s Colten Crizer and Nick Wise posted times in the 18 minute range, coming in 29th and 45th respectively. Rounding out the team was FR Dante Venezie and SO Lucas Bleakney coming in 58th and 65th respectively.

In total, the Wolverines posted a team “score” (Places) of 181 and a total time of 1:31:15 to place 7th overall in the 1A Classification for states.

Officially, there were 272 runners for the 1A event and 23 scored teams.

The Wolverines cap off a perfect record in section play, while posting great scores throughout the year.

The Wolverines took home 6th place in their first even of the year at the 51st Mary Uhre Vulcans Invitational while placing 3rd at the Red White & Blue Classic. The Wolverines then went 10-0 in section play, to then take 1st place at the Tri-County CC Invitational.

The Wolverines posted a 9th place finish at the MAC Championships, resting up for a solid 2nd place at the Tri-State meet just a week later.

Finally, the Wolverines placed 3rd overall in the WPIAL playoffs at the WPIAL championships, and finished their amazing season Saturday afternoon at PIAA Finals, placing 7th overall.
