CROSS COUNTRY

Cross Country has had an amazing and undefeated season so far this year and it continued once again this week. After defeating Riverside and Mohawk on Tuesday, cross country both varsity and Junior High placed first on Saturday’s Tri-County Invitational! Custer finished 3rd while Crizer came in 4th. Other finishers included Steffler (8th), Wise (9), and Venezie (12). Varsity won by 21 points while JH finished 1 point ahead of Neshannock. Up next for cross country is the MAC Championships at Settlers Cabin.

SOCCER

Soccer had a battle of the 3rd and 1st place teams as both ended in 11-0 losses to Beaver and Avonworth. Both teams have clinched playoffs, including Quaker Valley and Hopewell. The Wolverines will look to close out the season this week as they travel to rival Riverside on Tuesday and finish the year off at Helling Stadium against Quaker Valley.

Remaining Schedule: 10/10 3:30 PM @ Riverside | 10/12 6:30 PM vs. Quaker Valley (SN)

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Just like cross country, Girls Volleyball had its greatest week of the season as they picked up two big, crucial wins on the week! Ellwood City defeated the Mohawk Warriors in straight sets on Tuesday while picking up one of the biggest victories in volleyball history as they battled to win 3-1 against 2nd place Neshannock Lancers. The Wolverines lock themselves into playoffs with the win, but there is more to be haved - four more section games remain along with a non-section match against Central Valley.

Middle School Football

Middle School Football continues to struggle on offense, leaning hard on the defense. Give credit though, as the Wolverines defense continues to battle on the gridiron. Wolverines fell to the Mohawk Warriors 8-0 on Wednesday. Ellwood City will look for their first win this week as they host the Neshannock Lancers at home on Wednesday with a 6:00 PM kickoff time.
