EC Baseball & Softball Week of 04/22-26/19 Update

Weather has finally become a factor in the softball and baseball season as games are being postponed, cancelled, and eventually made up. That is the life of Spring sports in Western PA, but both baseball & softball teams are heading to the second part of their 2018-2019 schedules.

For baseball, the Wolverines are scheduled to play THREE straight conference games, back-to-back-to-back due to some communication issues for a scheduled make-up game. With that being said, the Wolverines battled against one team so far, that being New Brighton. The Wolverines had a 3-2 lead going into the 6th, but unfortunately could not hold for the win, losing 4-3 in the 7th inning. You can read the game recap below. The Wolverines will look to bounce back against Shady Side Academy today (at SSA 4:15) while also following up with the third straight conference game in a row against Hopewell on Thursday (at Hopewell 4:00 PM).

For softball, the Lady Wolverines continue to make strides forward, not only by having a winning record, but also being competitive against good teams. The Lady Wolverines bested an undefeated Avonworth team yesterday 6-1, improving their record to 8-4 (5-4) on the season. You can read the game recap below. The Lady Wolverines next play Beaver this Thursday at 4:15 PM (at Beaver) with another big matchup as the Beavers are 2nd in conference standings, while the Wolverines are 3rd.
