Wolverines Fall to Neshannock
In a great showing, Steve Antuono scored 18 points, but this was not enough as Ellwood City fell to Neshannock 66-43.
Wolverines had a strong first half, scoring a game-high 16 points during the second quarter on the strength of a 12-2 run.
Antuono broke away to lead Ellwood’s offense with 18 points, including nine during the third period.
Rick Pitrelli achieved double digits, scoring 12 points for Ellwood City (4-for-11). Also helping the effort for Lincoln were Alexander Roth (5 points, 1 rebound, 1 block), Rody Polojac (3 points), Rocco Sesti (2 points, 1 rebound), and Broc Boariu (2 points, 9 rebounds, 3 blocks).
Ellwood City finished the game with 24 rebounds (3 offensive / 21 defensive), four blocks and two steals.
Next up for the Wolverines is part two of the Riv-Ell Cup as they take on the Riverside Panthers at home (7:30 PM) this Friday. Festivities will start early as it is also Senior Night for the Wolverines.
