Wolverines notch a win against Mohawk

Steve Antuono scored 21 points to lead the Wolverines to a 51-45 victory over Mohawk on Saturday.

Wolverines ran away with an early lead after a 15-point second quarter, running up the lead to 27-18 by halftime.

Antuono was successful from the field, making 40% (6-for-15) of shots attempted as well as 50% (3-for-6) of threes attempted. He also shot well from the line, making 86% (6-for-7) of free throws attempted.

Rick Pitrelli went into double digits, scoring 11 points for Ellwood City (4-for-10). Also helping the effort for Ellwood were Milo Sesti (6 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal), Nathan Coonfare (4 points, 2 rebounds, 1 block), Alexander Roth (4 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal), Rocco Sesti (3 points, 1 rebound, 2 blocks), and Ryan Gibbons (2 points, 2 rebounds). Pitrelli was a big defensive contributor as well, racking up 10 rebounds, one steal and one block.

The Wolverines finished the game with 30 rebounds (6 offensive / 24 defensive), five blocks and eight steals.

Up next for the Wolverines is a conference game next Tuesday against the 3A Section 1 leading Lincoln Park Leopards.
