Wolverines Emerge victorious against New Brighton

Ellwood City were victorious against New Brighton 55-46 on Tuesday with the help of Ryan Gibbons, who scored 16 points. On a three-pointer from Alexander Roth, Wolverines sealed their victory in the fourth quarter.

The Wolverines fell behind early, trailing 32-29 by the half, only to come back hard in the final two quarters.

Going 7-for-12, Gibbons had a solid showing for Ellwood City, making 58% of field goals attempted.

Two other players also racked up double digit scores for Lincoln. Steve Antuono contributed 15 points and Rick Pitrelli scored 13 points. Also contributing for the Wolverines were Broc Boariu (5 points, 1 rebound) and Roth (5 points, 2 rebounds). Pitrelli was a big defensive contributor as well, racking up eight rebounds, one steal and two blocks.

Ellwood City finished the game with 36 rebounds (14 offensive / 22 defensive), three blocks and five steals.

The Wolverines improve to 6-9 (2-6) on the season and now go from 7th to 6th in standings. Up next for the Wolverines is a travel to Beaver Falls to take on 4th place Beaver Falls Tigers.
