EC Girls hold steady, defeat Freedom 48-33

Ellwood City girls fought through four tough quarters of basketball, finally being able to create some separation in the fourth quarter to beat the Freedom Bulldogs 48-33 in the first section game of the 2018-2019 season.
Leading the Wolverines to the victory was Maria Ioanilli who had 11 points and Isabella Roth who had 15 points.
Natalia Greco spotted 8 points while Kyla Servick added 9 points, all being scored in the final frame. Olivia Battaglia went to the line 6 times and 3 free throws while Chloe Sturgeon tacked on a bucket.
The Lady Wolverines defense played till the bitter end, holding Freedom to only 10 total field goals made on the evening.
Ellwood City is now 3-1 (1-0) on the season and will take to the road next week (Monday) against the Beaver Bobcats.
