Round 3 Playoff Predictions by the W-Zone
Week 3 of the playoff season is upon us as 4 championships will be handed out this weekend. Class 6A, 4A, 3A, and 1A Finals will all occur on Saturday, crowning the WPIAL champion for each respectable class. In the meantime, 5A and 2A classification are playing their Semifinals on Friday which includes 4 big matchups to determine who goes to the Finals at RMU. Below are the predictions by the W-Zone who is now 37-9 in the playoff predictions. Tomorrow and Saturday we will feature score updates during the games.
6A Class - Finals
#5 Seneca Valley (9-3) @ #2 Pine-Richland (10-2)
Pine-Richland comes in as the favorite as they have walked through the playoffs into the Finals. Seneca Valley is one of the surprising teams after the upset North Allegheny last week.

5A Class - Semifinals
#5 West Allegheny (9-2) @ #1 Gateway (12-0)
Game played at West Mifflin (7:30 PM FRI)
#3 Peters Township (10-2) @ #2 Penn Hills (12-0)
Prediction: Penn Hills

4A Class - Finals
#2 South Fayette (11-1) @ #1 Thomas Jefferson (11-0)
South Fayette will look to defeat the most balanced team all season while Thomas Jefferson will look to finish another season undefeated in the WPIAL.
Prediction: Thomas Jefferson
Game played at Heinz Field (5:00 PM SAT)
3A Class - Finals
#2 Derry (11-1) @ #1 Aliquippa (11-1)
Aliquippa comes into play with a powerful offensive side of the ball leaning on QB Kosanovich. Derry will look to slow down the offense of the Quips as the Trojans have a stingy defensive team.
Game played at Heinz Field (2:00 PM SAT)
2A Class - Semifinals
#7 Freedom (11-1) @ #3 Steel Valley (10-1)
Prediction: Steel Valley
Game played at Montour (7:30 PM FRI)
#8 South Side Beaver (9-3) @ #4 Charleroi (10-1)
Game played at Canon-McMillan (7:30 PM FRI)
1A Class - Finals
#5 Rochester (11-1) @ #3 OLSH (11-1)
Most likely the most intriguing matchup of the Finals in week 3 of the playoffs includes two teams that have had to pull off upsets. Rochester defeated Jeannette easily while OLSH defeated Clairton in simple fashion. OLSH is new to the championship game while Rochester is 8 years removed from a championship game.
