These clips will also be added to the website (and Youtube).

Wolverines Preview:

The 2016 Season for the Wolverines unfortunately did not include a W in the wins column. However, the season was that of a roller-coaster - full of rises and falls. The falls included 9 losses that also folded on an offense that only averaged 7 points per game. But, when looking at the big picture, there were several events along the season that has several players, coaches, and fans being optimistic this season.

Rises: "Rises" from last year included a defense that gave up less than 30 points a game despite averaging almost 30+ minutes on the field per game. This defense included a 91-Tackle player, Toby Kelly, who once again will be a focus this year at the linebacker position. Furthermore, most of the Wolverines offensive production will be returning including Andrew O'Brien, Rick Pitrelli, Lucca Botti, Donavin Chambers, Toby Kelly, and many others. Lines on both sides of the ball also returns several starters who performed well late in the season which will be looking to help provide the road to success in both the running and passing game.

The 2017 campaign will be filled with a lot of anxious moments as not only have many teams in the section have to rebuild this year, so do the Wolverines at the coaching position. Coach Nick Hand has taken over the Wolverines program with great experience from 20 years in assistance of coaching at North Hills High School, as well as a former player for Ellwood City.

With this all in mind, the Wolverines last year played fairly close games against opponents like Hopewell and Riverside. With little to back on from 2016, the Wolverines faithful are looking to the future with 40+ players now on the roster that will hopefully add depth and playing time to all the players.

Ultimately the Wolverines will have to battle each week once again in the Beaver Valley Conference. Below is a quick guide to the Wolverines' opponents and what to expect each week:

  • EC vs. Central Valley: CV returns over 78% of their offensive production which will be a huge test
  • EC @ Hopewell: EC chances are high as Hopewell is very young with their roster
  • EC vs. Beaver Falls: A new Coach (Nardone) and players will have to fill expectations fast
  • EC vs. Aliquippa: Raines and company will be competing for another title once again
  • EC @ Derry: Derry has much to prove as roster changes come into play after historical year
  • EC vs. Beaver: Huge hole to fill on offense (Wise) for Beaver, but will lean on potent defense
  • EC @ Valley: Another good chance for EC as Valley has an average outlook towards the season
  • EC vs. Riverside: Riv-Ell at it once again...revenge after controversial 14-13 OT loss last season
  • EC @ Quaker Valley: QB (McNair) will be key for QV success during the season
